Marco Foracchia is currently the CIO of AUSL Reggio Emilia (Local Health Authority, comprising 6 hospitals (1800 beds) and public health organization covering a population of 700000 people). He earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Padova (Padua, Italy), a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics from the University of Patras (Greece) and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Image Analysis from the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy). He has been visiting scholar at the Resource Facility for Population Kinetics at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). He has worked in Research and Development for private companies, mainly in pharmacokinetic modelling, medical device design, medical image analysis, robotics simulation and scientific computing. He is currently adjunct professor ad the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and visiting professor at SDA Bocconi.
