Dr. Esteban Gershanik is a Medicine Hospitalist, Medical Director of Quality, Safety, and Equity, and lead for the COVID-19 Equity, Diversity, and Community Health Response Team at Brigham Health. He currently serves on multiple committees and leads several projects measuring, evaluating, and innovating through an equity lens around healthcare delivery, public health, and digital care. He previously has served in various capacities at the institution as well as Chief Information Officer and Health Informatics Director at the Louisiana Department of Health.
Dr. Gershanik is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Clinical Informatics and a part-time Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He graduated from Tulane University School of Public Health and Medical School where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He was an inaugural member of the Master in Medical Science degree in clinical informatics from Harvard Medical School as a National Library of Medicine Fellow and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Society of Hospital Medicine, member of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor societies, and currently serving as an Ambassador for the HIMSS Global Health Equity Network Advisory Task Force.
