Dr. Felix Nensa is a consultant radiologist at the University Hospital Essen and group leader at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. For several years, he has been leading a research group that develops machine learning-based solutions to medical imaging problems. His focus is on practical solutions that must work in a clinical context. Here, in addition to workflow integration, his particular interests include interpretability, user trust, and interaction capabilities, especially with respect to modern, more complex machine learning models. Felix is co-speaker and principal investigator of the research training group “WisPerMed” of the German Research Foundation, board member of the working group on information technology of the German Radiological Society and co-founder of the emerging technologies in medicine (ETIM) congress.
