Good Morning from Finland: Towards Trustworthy Health Data Ecosystems

Data has become the world’s most valuable raw material. However, personal data is still currently used under unfair rules: our data economy is broken and we need to fix it. In fair data economy partnerships, data is shared between different parties with an individual’s consent in a seamless and transparent way. Individuals can use services that improve their well-being and everyday life while companies can achieve growth through innovations. Everybody wins and the overall well-being of society improves. Sitra’s IHAN® project lays a foundation for a fair data economy, in which successful digital services are based on trust and create value for everyone. Highlighting three brave examples from Europe that are using data in a transparent and trustworthy manner, this session will present Sitra’s key observations and tools to promote trustworthy health data ecosystems and announce the winners of Sitra’s Fair Health Data Challenge solution contest.
