The Shared Services of the Ministry of Health, EPE was created in 2010, by Decree-Law no. 19/2010, of 22 March, as a legal person of public law of a business nature, endowed with legal personality, administrative and financial autonomy and of its own assets, under the legal regime of the State business sector, being subject to the supervision of the members of the Government responsible for the areas of finance and health.
In accordance with the legal framework established by Decree-Law no. 19/2010, of 22 March, with the successive amendments described below, SPMS has increased its powers and responsibilities in the provision of services specific shares of the health area to establishments and services of the National Health Service ( SNS ), regardless of their legal nature, as well as to the bodies and services of the Ministry of Health and to any other entities, when carrying out specific activities in the health area.
The SPMS has the following duties:
- The provision of shared services in the areas of purchasing and logistics, financial services, human resources and information and communication systems and technologies;
- The operation of the National Health Service Contact Center (CCSNS) and the National TeleHealth Center (CNTS) ;
- Ensure the activity and management of the SNS Control and Monitoring Center (CCMSNS) , within the scope of the shared services of checking invoices for medicines, complementary means of diagnosis and therapy and other areas of health care.
