The use of electronic health records (EHRs) is directly associated with physician burnout. An underlying factor associated with burnout may be EHR-related fatigue owing to insufficient user-centered interface design and suboptimal usability. During this event, we’ll examine the cross-sectional study of 25 physicians completing four simulated cases of intensive care unit patients in the EHR with a focus on the study outcomes, strengths, limitations and conclusions. Presented by Saif Khairat, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Moderated by Toria Shaw Morawski, MSW, HIMSS TIGER Staff Liaison, Senior Manager, Professional Development.
